Read Me First - Vacation Extra Credit
Hello Students! I hope your vacations are going well. So I know i haven’t posted any assignments yet but dont worry i haven’t forgotten. On the next two post will be assignments for Algebra 1 and Algebra Readiness. If you have any questions for me you can send me an e-mail by clicking here. Other than that enjoy your vacation and do as much extra credit as possible.

Algebra 1 and Algebra Readiness - EC Task #1
Your first assignment will be a writing assignment. It will be worth 100 points total —-> 50 for Test and 50 for HW. This assignment is due January 12, 2009. The first day back from vacation.
It should be:
- typed
- Double spaced
- size 12 font
- use the font Times New Roman or Arial
- make sure to save a copy to your computer or flash drive i may ask you to provide a digital copy
You will look up a mathematician, you can google it or you can click hereand search this index. Once you have chosen your mathematician you will research the person. I want you to find two other sources of information from the Internet about this person.
Then you will write a one to two page biography about your mathematician In Your Own Words No copy and paste. Your biography will consist of three parts:
- Part One - The persons early life
- where were they born,
- who where there parents
- any siblings
- where did they go to school
- did they get married
- and other aspects of their personal life
- Part Two - The person as a Mathematician
- what discoveries did they make
- what did they do during their lies to contribute to mathematics
- What did they do that made them famous
- and any other aspect of their life as a mathematician
- Part Three - What you learned
- Why did you choose this person.
- what did you find most interesting about your mathematician
- if you could choose over again would you? why or why not?
